Volunteer Agreement – Terms and Conditions
Introduction
This agreement outlines the terms and conditions governing the conduct, responsibilities, and expectations of all volunteers participating in activities organized or endorsed by the International Humanitarian Commission (IHC). By signing this agreement, the volunteer affirms their commitment to uphold humanitarian principles and serve with integrity, compassion, and respect.
Eligibility
Volunteers must be aged between 16 and 70 years at the time of application. Volunteers under the age of 18 must provide parental or guardian consent.
Humanitarian Vow
As a volunteer of the International Humanitarian Commission, I solemnly vow:
To uphold the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of all people, regardless of race, religion, nationality, or political affiliation. I will act with empathy, serve with integrity, and remain impartial and neutral in all humanitarian efforts. I commit to being a force of hope, resilience, and peace in the face of adversity.
Code of Conduct
All volunteers agree to abide by the following ethical and behavioral standards:
Respect and Non-DiscriminationTreat every individual with respect and dignity, regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, language, disability, or background.
ConfidentialityRespect the privacy of individuals and maintain confidentiality in all sensitive matters, unless legally obligated to disclose.
Impartiality and NeutralityRefrain from taking sides in hostilities or engaging in political, religious, or ideological debates while representing the IHC.
Safety and SecurityFollow all safety guidelines, protocols, and instructions issued by IHC personnel or partnering organizations.
No Exploitation or AbuseZero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, harassment, or any behavior that causes physical or emotional harm.
Accountability and IntegrityAct honestly and transparently in all volunteer duties. Report any misconduct, fraud, or violations promptly.
ProfessionalismMaintain a high standard of behavior, appearance, and communication while engaged in humanitarian work.
Rules and Responsibilities
CommitmentVolunteers agree to honor the time commitments made and to notify coordinators in advance if they are unable to fulfill their duties.
Training and OrientationCompletion of required training sessions and briefings prior to deployment or engagement in fieldwork is mandatory.
RepresentationVolunteers must not speak or act on behalf of IHC in official capacities without explicit permission.
Use of ResourcesIHC materials, property, or funds are to be used solely for the purposes of humanitarian service.
Reporting and FeedbackVolunteers must submit reports, feedback, or evaluations as required by the IHC program coordinator.
Volunteer Pledge
